| "If
one fails to become personally adjusted, it is virtually impossible to be
professionally effective" (Kealey 1996) "When people are in unfamiliar environments and when they behave in unpredictable ways, they are likely to lose control. Loss of control is associated with experience of stress, helplessness and depression." (Bhagat & Prien, 1996) |
Inpatriation
briefings Inpatriation briefings are designed to help overseas executives and their families adjust to living and working in Australia. Briefings include information about Australian values and life-style, communication styles, work styles and negotiation. It is recommended that local staff take part in some of the sessions in order for them to learn about and better cater for the needs of the foreign executive. |
