Intercultural Negotiation Training

There is no doubt that a sort of "international culture" of business has emerged in recent times and much of the face to face dealings are done by cosmopolitan business counterparts. However, a considerable amount of negotiation is routine and is carried out by local specialists in particular fields who are not experienced in international business dealings.

Who is involved in international negotiation?  How experienced or adept are they in dealing with counterparts from different cultures?

When we think of international business negotiation, we tend to visualise board rooms filled with high flying business executives.  We tend to overlook the fact that in reality, there is a very wide range of people who may be involved in varying degrees in the international negotiation process:  business executives, foreign service personnel, technical support workers, reporters, scientists, volunteers, university lecturers and the people who market their courses.  Added to this are the support staff from all fields.  How adept at cross-cultural communication are the people who are routinely in the front line such as the receptionists in your company?
