Re-entry Briefings

When executives and their families return from extended assignments abroad, it is not uncommon for them to go through a similar transition process as they did when they first arrived in the foreign country.  For most, this is unexpected and thus for many it is even more difficult than it was adjusting to life in the foreign country. Many executives report the phenomenon of "Professional Integration Shock".  The extent of this shock relates to a number of factors and the effect of it may be lessened if a number of strategies are put into place, preferably starting well before the executive returns home. If neglected, the situation may deteriorate to the extent that the executive may leave the company.
